Modern emergency management

Integrated Security Centre in the Moravian-Silesian Region interconnects emergency communication between the police, fire brigades, rescuers and citizens.

A unique project of operating and emergency management of security and rescue specialists based on the Integrated Security Centre was initiated in the Moravian-Silesian Region. This comprehensive solution has no equal on the European scale. The project can thus become a model and inspiration for similar centres not only in the Czech Republic, but also in the entire EU. The purpose of the Centre is to provide, on a regional basis, for effectiveness of all essential components of the Integrated Emergency System.

The Integrated Security Centre has become the control point for all the essential components of the Integrated Emergency System, i.e. the Fire Brigade of the Moravian-Silesian Region, the Police of the Czech Republic and the Emergency Medical Services. All the emergency call numbers (150, 155, 156, 158 and the European emergency number 112) have been centralized. Instructions for intervention by emergency and rescue teams are provided to all the fire brigades, medical rescue centres and the police from a single point. AV MEDIA was the vendor and integrator of the communication technologies.

“We have already actively used videoconferences in emergency situations, for instance during floods in 2006 and 2008, after a misfortunate collision of trams between the stops Poruba and Vřesina two years ago, during the train disaster in Studénka or when coordinating joint interventions of Czech and Polish emergency units on the territory of both countries,” explains Petr Berglowiec, Head of the Operating Management Department of the Fire Rescue Service in the Moravian-Silesian Region.
