Modern educational methods
An active integration of education and practical experience in health care is a challenge for most universities.
The Masaryk University as one of major educational and scientific institutions in the Czech Republic actively employs AV technologies, in particular in its modern campus erected at the Faculty of Medicine.
The efficiency of healthcare processes supported by ICT or AV technologies has been a topic of discussions for several decades, as this is an area promising a significant increase of productivity and reduction of costs. The most frequent subjects in this respect include digitalization, data security and data archiving. Important is also support to e-Health trends. Specific fields of application of new technologies include videoconference transmissions from operating rooms, which can be efficiently used for instance for the purpose of education. An excellent example of supporting e-Health trends is the Masaryk University and the University Hospital in Brno.
“Our main objective was finding a solution enabling us to record details from the entire course of operation. All our requirements have been successfully met thanks to a sophisticated videoconference infrastructure between the University Hospital and the newly erected Masaryk University campus in Brno. Moreover, AV MEDIA that contributed to the overall videoconference infrastructure accomplished in designing mobile videoconference units (trolleys) adapted to our needs, which can be easily used during operations,” describes Petr Štourač, Head Physician of the Anaesthesiology Department at the University Hospital in Brno.
