Plzeňský Prazdroj Celebrates 170 Years
Plzeňský Prazdroj prepared a “golden brew” spectacular celebration for its customers on its 170th anniversary of its brewing the very first Pilsner Urquell lager.
The celebrations included an original programme with the Plzeň Philharmonic together with Michal Pavlíček, a non-traditional artistic performance by Décalages and the climax in the form of an audio-visual video mapping show.
A Rich Programme and a Magnificent Show
The mapping for the celebration was carried out on the sides of the Cathedral of St. Bartholomew in Plzeň, making it the largest mapping project we have realized to date, with an area of 900 m2. Tests carried out in September confirmed this conjecture. The original light output intended for the projectors to illuminate the church had to be doubled, so in the end we used the “shooter”, two Full HD Panasonic projectors, each with a light flow of 21.000 ANSI lumens. In addition, a separate Full HD Christie projector with an output of 18.000 ANSI lumens with a special mirror was used to illuminate the clock tower, allowing a reverse horizontal image to a vertical position while maintaining all other optic parameters without distortion.
Technical Provision by Experienced Professionals
Technical and technological provision for the event was ensured by AV MEDIA, a company with extensive experience in implementing mapping projects. For instance, over the pat two years the technical team and project managers at AV MEDIA were involved in mapping the Old Town Astronomical Clock, the new museum housed in the Royal Liver Building in Liverpool, the interior of the Rudolfina in Prague and the Kia’s new model, the Ceed.
The re-rendered content supplied by Silencio FX was retouched and reworked by the Coolux media server, which, among other capabilities, allows perfect “warping” of 3D animation on a building built in the 13th century.
AV MEDIA provided not only the technology for their own projection technology, but also complete technical production associated with it, including consultation on producing the content, on site inspections for events, constructing projection towers, network wiring and other services.
